Trivial question, but is anyone else having this problem? Often when I post a reply on this forum I notice a typing error and go back to correct it. Sometimes this goes OK, but on several occasions when I have pressed the Backspace key to delete a letter or word, the whole window has closed. I'm running a PC under Windows 98 SE.

Hi :)
This problem is caused by the DELETE key being interpreted as a browser-back-page command instead of it being interpreted as a text-character-delete command.
When you encounter this problem, simply press the “Forward” button in your browser and you’ll be back to the edit page without losing your recent changes.
Hope this helps,

Pixolator: Boy, you're quick to reply to such a trivial question - thanks a lot. This will indeed save typing and frustration. :tu:
By the way, Flycatcher -- the thing that normally causes this to happen is not actually having an edit cursor within a text box.
While you are typing in a text window, the Backspace works like with a typewriter. But if you don't have that flashing cursor anywhere in your browser window, then Internet Explorer treats the Backspace as a shortcut key for the Back button instead. It's a handy little thing for general surfing, but yes it does manage to get annoying once in a while!

Hi FLycatcher,
Can't help you with the problem as I have never experienced it i'm afraid.
However, it is good to have another Cheshire based forum member onboard. I was born in Northwich so the next nearest ZB member is StevieRAE over in Yorkshire. I think the furthest member is old Upham down in New Zealand.
Once again, good to have you onboard,
Glen

Aurick - Thanks for the additional info. Considering how much time I've spent surfing, you'd think I'd know that IE shortcut, but I didn't! I thought I'd had the cursor in the box when it happened, but I guess I must have been mistaken.

Hi Glen - my, I hadn't realised we raised such talented folk in Northwich. I'm a few miles up the road from Winsford. Only just "on board" with ZB though so far - during the summer months my entomologial pursuits as literally indicated by my pseudonym here keeps me pretty much busy full-time, so I'm really only keeping abreast with the forum before bed at present. Looking forward to getting stuck into the learning curve properly come autumn, but as someone with no artistic training I doubt learning the software will be my biggest hurdle! My previous graphics experience has been with Paint Shop pro (fairly extensive) and Vue 4 (limited), but neither of those expose my lack of innate talent to the degree that ZBrush does.
Thanks for the welcome and thanks also for the inspiration from your own superb images and very helpful tutorials.
Bill :)
