Something just clicked. This is an experiment with this method. The image here is for Ron, ETA, SC, FC, EZ and numerous others, who in some way have contributed to my leaf creation. I find that the more I learn the more realistic the foliage appears.
I hope you guys like it. Thanks for your hints, tips and inspiration since I first joined this forum.

Thanks Vikki, I missed you :ex: I am guessing that your book project is keeping you busy :ex: Are you are like the rest of us lurking the forum just in case 1.5 decides to pay us a visit ? :) :D :D

Joe.

very nice Joe...I like the round leaves with the pink/red veins....very nice touch.... :tu: :tu: :tu:
Those are authentic seagrape leaves which were scaned and then imported.
Looks super DeeVee. Got that jungle folage down pat. ~s~

Great stuff, Joe! I can hear the parrots squawking and the monkeys howling...

Hey Joe,
Actually I've got a devil of a cold or flu. Not sure which. Been lurking a bit. Stuffed myself full of sudafed, Halls honey lemon drops and a little peach brandy to await the release and was up til 3am getting it. The way I feel now, I'll be lurking here and there for a few days but I'm not up to sitting here too long. :D
I was waiting on 1.5 to continue since character creation and positioning is going to be so much easier now. Sorry for the delay in the reply.

Well! I'd say you have gotten rather amazing with the foliage, so diverse in shapes & colours. Absolutely beautiful...
When does the Zscript come out????
;)
There are so many different types of foliage and all look great! You have done so much work perfecting so many different things. First skies, then water, then rocks and foliage. I can't wait to see what's next and I really enjoy watching your progress :tu:
Thanks for the comments. I have put in some hours trying to get certain things done in Z. My next major project is to tackle Zspheres and skinning. I am having a difficult time orienting things on this interface. I was just becoming really familiar with 1.23b, so I guess a few more sleepless nights.
Vikki I hope you feel better. I take Buckleys syrup. It tastes like hell but works very well. If is available in your area you should give it a try.
DeeVee,
Joe
NorthStar I am afraid there will be no zscripts on these plants. They were all created on a black background and saved. When needed they were imported as a texture put on a 3Dplane and the DragRectangle used to build up the shape required, and the gyro used to turn or reduce size as needed. The intensity was also adjusted depending on if I wanted the plant to appear close or far from the viewer. That is about it.
If you would like me to send you some of these, I can email them to you or anyone else who think they may be able to make use of them.

Joe

Thanks DeeVee for the offer, but now that I think about it I would just be lazy - I really should experiment and learn how to do different folliage myself!! Otherwise I won't develop the skills I want to.
But I do appreciate your offer!!

DeeVee, I must say the advancements you continue to make are wonderful to witness. You show a passion for what you do; and a level of striving toward perfecting your artistic vision. "Well done" seems a bit lame, however, you have done very well indeed.
Thank you very much F9
NorthStar you are quite right. The only way to get the hang of a subject is to become completely enveloped with it for a sustained period of time, eventually things will click.
DeeVee,
Joe.

Thanks for the notes on how you did it, Joe. I guessed as much, but it was nice to see it confirmed. I also tried out this technique about a fortnight ago, primarily for flowers rather than foliage, but have not yet used it in any of my postings.
