Glow Material and my New Signature...

I wasn't going to post this, thinking it might be considered a bit of ego the Forum could do without, but an email from someone whose opinion I value changed my mind...

What's interesting to me here, is the material of the plaque...It is a Glow Material with the two shaders 'tweaked' individualy regarding glow amount and radius, and with Color Bump raised to give the 'Facet' effect on the gem...I hope you can overlook the subject, and that this info leads to experiments with the actual shaders, as they are one of the more powerful features of this software... :)

(Of course, the resolution sux, because it's meant to be a very small inclusion in the image...)

wow, thanks stonecutter! I am making a black onyx ring w/ small diamond and am having alot of trouble with the small diamond part.. LOL And thanks for the tip on the color bump; haven't used that one yet. This will help alot!

And you should also check out the 'graphs' in the material modifiers panel, in particular the Transparency graph...This can make a gemstone look like a gemstone, and not just a piece of colored glass... ;)
