Lobo, I am a zombie nut...and I know I cant wait to see this guy's progression....I love the modeling and the meaty look to the head so far.....can't wait to see where you take my favorite theme... :tu: :tu: :tu:
Thanks Ron, now that I look at it I think I used a slightly too shiny material for the head, but its early on so expect a lot of changes.
Needs eyes too.

That's some really fine texturing, L! And the modelling is excellent as well, with the bony structure showing through!
Very nice! (And I'm not even a zombie fan! ;) )

well lobo, I hear that alot about heads...now here is my gross theories on rotting heads and stuff...if you take like a burn victim that is fresh, it would probably be shiny with all the moisture coming to the surface. Now if the flesh has scabbed over it might now be as shiny....or if the ooze has slightly crusted it would have that translucent shell over it with you still being able to see the steamy flesh underneath. An old kill would probably be a flatter material for a little bit...weathered an all until it starts to break down like rotting bacon...then the grease and fat from the skin would rise to the surface again giving it that nice slick oily sheen....though you always see zombies with blood and stuff dripping...if it were real all the blood that had not congealed would probably be in the legs and stuff due to gravity....though puss and rot would be dripping from all areas of the body....I like Lucio Fulci's zombies because they had no eyes really...and it follows reason because that is soft tissue and that would be one of the first things to go probably..via insects or just natural decomposition....well those are just a few thoughts...."Ron, get real...there are no such things as zombies...." muhhahahhahahaa or are there? :tu: :tu: :tu:

wow ron..hehe you have had plenty of fun with flesh hu.. ;)
Impressive modeling and texturing :tu: :tu: :tu: :D
Ron I am wondering how you know so much about what dead bodies look like ;)
Anyway Lobo your zombie is coming along fantastic with great modelling and texturing. Only suggestion I'll give is maybe make it more corpsish, currently Its kinda like a dried up head, but when I think of zombies I think of rotting resident evil style corpses sorta like the ones in the back of Ron's closet  :D :D :D

Ron, as resident Zombologist, I noticed that maggots and their by products haven't been mentioned. I'm assuming they would be present and also affect the surface palour. Maybe you could expand on that a smidge.
PS. nice translucency lobo69

though maggots add a nice bit of livlihood to the rotted face, zombies of modern fiction these days tend to eat the living...so to me they would have done been plucked off and munched by the said zombie upon its re-entry into the world. They would be the closest living thing at resurrection right? Maggots will also have the tendancy to burrow into the flesh and eat from the inside out also, like an oppossum entering thru the soft tissue areas of large road kill and going for the organs and whatnot....I have heard that sometimes you can kick a dead cow that has lain in the sun all bloated and alot of times several oppossum will scurry out of the carcas....and also I dont know how much the flies would like embalming fluid? that is if the corpse was properly prepared....but if you remember the original Night of the LIving Dead one of the zombies ate a centipede...so that is also where my maggot chomping theory comes from. ;) (zombologist...lol..now that was hilarious)
Very nice texture. :tu: :tu:
Thanks for all the comments, most of you guys are geniuses with this program so its very humbling to have you all tell me that I done good.
Thank god no one mentioned the ears, <since there are none> perhaps they fell off?
Here is a cool link I made last night with this Zhead, thought you all might enjoy.

well it would be a hoot to see the other members use that ....very quick and easy to use and to do...2 minutes and your pic is animated.... :)
It seems hand modeling is nowhere near as easy as head modeling, probably because of all the fingers and not being able to use symmetry, but the Zsphere's came through and worked perfectly, first time using them.
You may ask why am I not making the whole body with Zshperes? The reason is that I'm still learning/practicing with ZB and before I tackle a huge prooject like an entire body, I need to practice making parts a few times. Thats why my head is so much better than my hand, I have made a lot of heads in ZB 1.2x, this is my first hand.
Next: The Torso.

Hands look real good Lobo...
BTW is that Bud Making Faces "a Text to Speech to Animated speaking head" service?
I enjoyed both your and Ron's short clip.
I didn't get a chance to parouse the making Making Faces option, so that's why I'm asking. What ever app it is, it looks similar in scope to what 3DMeNow Designer can do... www.biovirtual.com/3Dmenowdesigner (http://www.biovirtual.com/3Dmenowdesigner)
anyhoo, thank for the fun post :D

nice i like much
The body for the Zombie came out a little superheroic looking, gonna try a few things to thin him out a bit. I was working on getting the musculature correct and everytime I added something he just got bigger and bigger. But it looks cool at this stage so I thought I'd post.

lookin good Cam!!! might end up as an Arnold S. zombie :) :tu:
Zbrush does it again!! A couple clicks and voila, I get the skinny, boney look I wanted without sacrificing the good musculature..
Now on to some serious texturing.

The torso is coming out awesome, although I personally think too much of it is there, I'm thinking like a third of the flesh should be hanging off ;) :D
I'll try and simulate that as much as I can with texturing.
L
Finally got the UV coords on the body working, so I have my textures working now.
Anyone have any good ideas on how to pose the arms and finger on the hand now?

Hi Lobo
It's depend that you want.
Make an animation or a still picture
First case : object + Multi markers -->poly mesh
A little difficult Bon courage :)
Second case :more easy
A layer by ojbect and enjoy to smduge the invisible attach :) see the previous Mahlikus's posts http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=008306

Great start. The modelling is fantastic, as is the texture. I hope you've been recording each session as a Zscript.
