Hi,

You don't know me (yet), but I know you. I know your wit and your candor. I know your dedication to making ZBrush the next wildly successful artist tool for countless years to come. But mainly I know your commitment to helping proud new owners of Pizologic's amazing software to get past the rough spots and set smooth sail on the Pixol Zea of creativity. And that is where I owe you a sincere and large 'Thank you!'.

I have been a member of this forum (and the previous one) for a while now. Out of respect, I kept my mouth closed and my eyes open wide. And now I'd like to contribute as well.. I'd like to share the very first complete ZBrush picture I 'painted'. I just finished this late last night. I am one of those artists who firmly believe in using the right brush for the right stroke. Therefore I designed the bold cartoon outline in Expression; I fleshed out the background using the powerful vector & lighting effects of RealDraw Pro; In Deep Paint 3D, I edited the real-media skin of the characters; I modeled and brought to life the cat and mice in ZBrush (in my opinion, nothing could do it as well as ZBrush does!); and lastly I touched up the image--smoothing stray pixels, blending material edges, and adding tails/whiskers/shadows in PhotoShop. :)

Sorry about the quality of the image. The Original is poster size, and far crisper.

Thank you again for all your tutorials and help. I for one can tell you that your work here is truly appreciated. Take Care!

Hi! I keep searching here on the message reply screen, but I can't seem to locate the 'I am humbled and extremely flattered' Graemlin. :)

Thank you! Your kind words are definitely encouraging. I have worked for years as a multimedia designer and web application developer, but it was not until just a month ago that I seriously started considering the possibility of becoming gainfully employed as a graphic artist. A nearby national fireworks manufacturer was seeking a new employee for their expanding advertising/graphics department. Unfortunately I was not chosen for the job; but I did learn a couple valuable lessons. The last complete picture I produced was way back when I was still in 8th grade. That was.. uh.. 11 divided by 3.. uh.. carry the two.. add 4.. add.. Well, suffice to say, it was a lonnggg time ago. Haha.. So what that means is that I have no other 'works' to share yet. However, I am working hard on my portfolio, and you can be sure I will post each new image here as I finish it. (I am not one for WIPs because I am my own worse critic--I can already pick out a half dozen things in Cookie Heist that I do not like.) :)

Smiles, please tell son #3 I'm sorry I don't have anything else for him to look at. But tell him that I am always open to ideas, and if he has something he like me to produce, I will happily try to make a special picture just for him.

As far as having something to teach the people here? That was a very nice thing to say. But honestly, what could I teach the very people who routinely produce the excellent artwork I gain my inspiration from? But I will do my best to share any tips and instructions I have discovered. I will even give a helpful little description of how I designed Cookie Heist if anyone is interested.

Hmm.. I still cannot find that appropriate Graemlin. So I will just say "Thank you!" again. ;)

P.S. I'm glad I did not upset anyone since my image is not 100% ZBrush.

a fantastico-wowzers-wonderful first contribution, an obviously great combination of apps and a fireworks manufacturer that should feel very stupid (nationwide and internationally) :). keep them coming and thank you for de-lurking!
