I normally hide the icons on my desktop, but couldn't resist using this wallpaper (for now), and unhid my icons. I only have ZBrush, plus the demo for Wings3d, and Adobe Photodeluxe, which came with my printer, so I have a long way to go in the 3d app world. I want to buy Rhino after seeing Glen's litte robo-bug. Combined with Zbrush, I think it would be loads of fun. Is there a demo?
Hey Slosh,
Yep there's a demo. Link to the download page with Flamingo demo also on the same page below:

Nice desktop Southern. :D

Entropy, yes.
All but Bryce 5 and a few other essentials which I liked so much I bought. I did some work for a Corel show this month that netted me a second copy of Painter 7 (Doh!), Corel Knock out and some other stuff that I can't remember.
I also managed to scrounge a company van that that I nick-named the SGFX-Mobile....

lol Glen! You actually keep the boxes? I gave up on that long ago. I remember when I moved back to the states from Japan that I had accumulated an ENORMOUS collection of software for my Commodore 64 and my Amiga 1000. I was originally going to keep the boxes except that I had three clothes boxes full! (those are the big stand up boxes that they put clothes racks through..the are about four feet or so tall) Nowadays I keep the essentials and toss the box. :D

boxes contains great power. They are symbols of human engineering. Keep them like the jewels that they are.

I try to keep all the original boxes with the original CD's in them where possible. It does take up a lot of room but that's one of the reasons I moved house. When I review stuff I always take my own photographs and I just end up keeping eyerything. I don't have the box for the Cougar though lol.

I kept the boxes for Freedom Force and Galapagos (Mendel's Escape). Just because those were cool boxes.

I'm a neat freak when it comes to my computer. All my software is in its own CD jewel case nicely ordered and sorted in my CD file towers and labeled and categorized in a custom database. I have about 450 CD's (software). Those little old boxes don't stack well and none of them are the same size so out they go. One of these days I am going to clean house........ :D
Symbols of human engineering eh Entropy?? It's funny you should say that as I was in the box business for nine years.
Always keep the box, just like shiny stuff, they make valuable collections. :D
I've got several large bookshevles full of them and matching bookshelves for the books. :D

That's just it Vikki. I wouldn't have shelves full I would have rooms full! I still have my C-64 and Amiga as well as two other older computers. Lets see 450 programs on CD each with their own box averaging 117 cubic inches would be 52650 cubic inches or an area equaling just over 4ft x 4ft x 2ft that equates to five foot tall four foot wide book shelves and since some of those boxes are incredibly big it would take three bookshelves. Now I already have 2 1/2 book shelves full of computer books, reference books and such so that would be six book shelves! See what I mean? Arrg I am getting a headache just thinking about it....... :D
Damn! Would I love to be able to afford all that software! :)
Hey Mentat7....snap! I used to have an Amiga...still have it in my loft actually! lol :) Ah those were the days! :)
Yes, Mentat I know. I have 3 bookshelves that are about 36 inches wide and 6 feet tall with software. Those are matched, actually exceeded by the books that go with the software and others that I've purchased to supplement the software and manuals.
I have moved twice this year. It's taken longer to move the software than the other personal belongings. However, I would not be without any of it including the boxes. :D
I also have several computers. I have one of the first quote unquote laptops...8086 but they were not called laptops then, I believe they were called portables or some such thing. I also have a 386 but don't use it much. That commodore is around here somewhere along with it's tape drive. hehehe!
You have to keep the computers to run the old software. I know, I'm a nut. But I have lots of fun! :D
You know, if I lined up my book shelves in such a way to create a room, I could just put a roof on it and I'd be set for living quarters. :D

I keep everything. Softwares boxes, all the "special offers" or ads that I find in them or with a DVD, tape, CD... everything that comes with what I buy I keep it. I just hate throwing stuff away. :)

you need maya unlimited 4.0 $$$$$$$$$$$$$ I have it .
DW, it's taken a lifetime. A little here, a little there. :D A least in home computer years. And, never, never, never, throwing anything away.
Hey Lonnie, I still have MY Commodore 64 and Amiga 3000, and TONS of software for both, mostly games, but some of that way-cool graphics software for the Amiga that pretty much inspired EVERYTHING we use nowadays. Also still have a Colecovision and 64 game cartridges for it, as well as the driving wheel and special multi-button controllers. Can't get enough money out of any of them to be worth selling. I'm hoping to donate them to a museum some day for a tax write-off  :D

Hey Nikko! I have a Colecovision too! Still have my old Atari 2600, Nintendo, Sega, Super Nintendo,............. :D
I see Amiga is still around in some form!

I've got my ATARI ST, and about 200 disks!! :D :D :D
Still a rock n' roll game machine, and I have Spectrum 512....It has 512 colors!!!
Spectrum 512 is an incredible program. Way before its time... My ST died not long after I upgraded it to 2 megs ram. It still lives in emulation though...
