... nice nose, eyes & ears, same goes for the texture - but: the helmet>> seems like he donned the helmet from his eldest son :D ?

To serve it's purpose maybe it should be a bit wider/bigger and protect a bit more of that fine, ugly face?

Looks like a bright brute, like it!

The helmet and eyes and nose are great!!! I would add a little more texture to the skin; hair, fuzz, and some lumps and bumps. I think this character would be more menacing if his mouth and neck were wider. I would love to see more teeth! Very cool!! I look forward to an update! :tu:

Hey Namek, this is really cool!! The nose, the ear ring and the teeth are my favorites!! :tu: :tu: though I do agree that the helmet has to be a little wider and lower down his face, probably covering his eyebrows... That's my 121. Great job overall though with the style! I actually think the bumps and wrinkles are quite satisfactory.

Great image, a commander needs way more piercings though. :)

Here's a small update , I changed the helmet , is it better now ? I cant really change a lot because I baked some stuff.
I also added some lumps , a scar , dark dots , ...
I hope the eyes catch the attention a bit more now.

Great update! The helmet fits much better. I still kinda like the dirty qualities of the first helmet though. If you could incorporate that element into the new helmet I think it would look really cool. Some areas of the face/ears are a little to smooth, have you tried the bump tool with different alphas yet? You have the makings of a very compelling portrait! :tu: :tu:

I too like the older image better...but thats not to say this one is worst...its just an individual's preference.

Now for a tip. Before I bake, I pick up the diffusion and ambient a little on all materials. Why? because after I bake...I unbake! Stick with me now! After baking, the image may neither cast nor recieve shadow. That is why the ring under his nose didn't cast a shadow. To unbake, you can paint the image with a fastshader/basic material after baking. It gets a little darker than before but that's why I lighten the materials a little first ;) . now that the baked image has a fastshader for its material...you can now adjust its properties to regain your desired brightness and contrast...plus!...cast and receive new shadows.

To better illustrate this method,Click here to download Aurick's ZScript on unbaking. (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1011639241gyf.txt)
