Hi all,

I am new here and just started using Zbrush 1.55 today.

Can anyone help me getting started? or tell me what i need to do first and so on?

I downloaded the manual and will start reading it soon, do i need other programs like 3ds max maya etc.? if yes, why do i need them ?

Welcome aboard! I'm new to ZBrush too and I'm using 1.55b but I'd recommend you download the Practical guide and start reading that and do the excellent tutorials it contains.

ZB1.55b comes with a load of excellent z scripts, I imagine ZB2 does as well so watch all of those and see if you can reproduce the results.

After all that you should have a good grasp of most of ZB tools and functions but there's more!

Browse through the Quicklinks at the top of the page here (there are MASSES!) read everybody's posts, post your own work and ask LOTS of questions :)

You need another prog just if you want make animation!
For he rest Zbrush is suffisent :cool:

With the exception of animating.......Zbrush is all the awesome tool you will need.....if you downloaded 1.55 then I highly recommend watching all the zscripts and get used to the interface and definitely READ the manual that comes with it. It is a HUGE help in getting to know ZBrush.

Also.....diving in and playing is a great way to learn too! ;)

edit: just noticed you said you have Z2.....well I still recommend reading the manual for 1.55 but the help system with Z2 and all included zscripts will get you well on your way for sure!!

In about 10 seconds to 1 hour you will be hooked and then you will belong to the Pixolator. You will then fork over the monies necessary to update to Z2 which is really ZSquared or twice as awesome as Z1.55.

I downloaded Zbrush, i thought the download is the newest trial version. But i see that it is Zbrush 1.55 now :)

Kinda noob here hehe, but it's Trial of Zbrush 1.55b, so i will read the 1.55 manual and stuff :)
