I've been painting on a .dxf model. Now, I notice that once you start painting, you can't rotate the picture at all to get a different perspective. Is there a way around this?? Help please!! Thanks :)
'Morning Shaitan51 . . . After you build or import your object & you have done all your modifications, "DO NOT CHOOSE ANOTHER TOOL" such as the "PaintBrush"!
While the object your working on is still active, & your still in "Edit" mode - "T", go to the "Material" palette & pick a Material that you want to use for your model. Then go to the "Color" palette & pick a Color that you want for the BASE color of your object. Underneath the Color window you'll see a button labeled "Fill Object", if you press that button you'll freeze the Color & Material of your choice to that object. After that all you have to do is choose another color & or material to paint with.
You don't switch Tools, just start painting your object. You control the size of your brush & the strength of your color in the "Draw" palette by adjusting the "Draw Size" & "RGB Intensity" - You also have to turn off "ZAdd", "ZSub" & "ZCut" & select "RGB" in the same palette. You can use different painting brushes by choosing a shape from the "Alpha" palette. ;)
Now you can still Rotate, Move or Scale your object & continue to paint.
If you want to paint with a different Material & Color in certain areas of your object, then you would select "MRGB" instead of "RGB" in the Color Palette - but make sure that "ZAdd", "ZSUB" & "ZCUT" is turned off, or you will start adding bumps or valleys to your object.
REMEMBER!!! SAVE OFTEN!!!
I hope this helps some?
Have a good one . . . Mark.
