Hi there, was wondering if other Mac users had noted that the 1.23 Manual suffers an error from an unreadable font.
This font seems to be the one that is used for many of the headings etc.
Could this be confirmed. :ex:

Hey boozy,

The pdf manual is saved as a Zip file and I think some of us on the Mac (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001001) are having problems with the compression scheme. I haven't tried to download it again, but it still seems to be in Zip format. Perhaps Pixologic should also compress the file using .sit (BinHex)?

Boozy, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I'm using a Mac and I don't have a problem reading the document. My version of Acrobat (4.0) correctly reads the fonts, which are embedded in the document.

We'll investigate this problem; meanwhile any specific information from you (your system, Acrobat version, etc.) would be helpful.

Adman, you're referring to a problem with some corrupted .zip files which have since been replaced. Stuffit Expander (version 5 point something and later) expands .zips, so we haven't planned to post a .sit version.

If the Mac users of this board require it, we can post a .sit version.

Thanks again,
dave

Hi davey!

Thanks for the reply. I've downloaded the manual again. After decompressing, and opening I still receive the following error messages in this order:

1. The file is damaged but is being repaired.

2. There was an error processing a page. Too few operands.

3. An unrecognized token 'cl' was found.

Then after I clicked on any page...
4. Unable to extract the embedded font 'EHMNBG+ACaslon-Semibold.' Some characters may not display or print correctly.

I have both StuffIt Expander 5.5 and ZipIt. The reason I bring up the compression scheme is because a kind ZBC member offered to send me an uncompressed version of the manual, since this approach had solved kitsch's problem. Unfortunatley, my email accounts won't accept a file that large.

The system I'm trying this on is a 450mhz G4 running system 9.0.4.

thanks,
Adman

It's the highlite/heading font that becomes unreadable, the body text can be viewed
