View Full Version : Male and Female anatomical studies in marble
I am interested in the great artists and the way in which they posed a figure, so I thought I would have a go. This is all modeled in ZBrush, only my name dropped in Photoshop. I am going to work further with this one, i will keep ya posted with my progress.

Absolutely phemoninal! :tu:
Is the whole model one mesh or did you do the feet, hands, etc. separate and then join them? also excelent head.

Extremely well done!
I too am curious about how it was all put together. Only one small suggestion, if I may be so bold as to say anything about something so perfect: He needs more of a neck. That's all. Outstanding work.

Very very good modelling !! Compliments !!! U know best all part of body !!! :tu: :tu:
way to go :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:
Well all beings are different, and this fella lost his neck by becoming muscle bound, thanks anyway as i appreciate all feedback. Okay this is stage two, I have added veins using Z add on and simple brush, kept the lighting but made a new material which is much like marble. For those of you interested, in about 2 days time I will explain using some images of how I went about creating the image, but for now, the answer to the question! each section is made frome a sphere hand, forearm, upperarm, head, torso etc. and then join in whatever pose that I choose.
Thank you for your comments. Picsas

Most excellent Picsas! I would be very interested in learning about how you smoothed out the joints after combining the pieces. :tu:
Ditto what everyone else has said. This is a phenominal study of human form. You've got every muscle and vein in the right spot. I am very curious to see your process and the smoothing of the joints, as everone has said. Also, how long did this take to get to this stage? It took me nearly 4 hours to do a simple turtle.

wowzer picas modeled in zbrush huh.. well i guess theres just no end of your talent... excellent modeling and coloring..love to know your secrets.
Okay i am tired, my eyes wont stay open any longer, must...... have...... sleep....
All parts were made previously I cant remember how long they took, maybe around 10hours. The seemles joins are 90 persent natural to the shapes and then a little smudging, very lightly and in a circular motion. I will share a lot of secerets later on in this thread, when i get some time. Showing a body part being made, and then how they get joined, also how to position all parts together acuratley, stay tuned!

A fantastic job of figure modelling, that clearly exhibits the potential of the software for human modelling! The base you applied is also very appropriate...

Well because i am not so good with words I thought it would be easier to show you my technique with images, So i put this lady together and took snap shots all the way through, well here she is. I am sorting the shots out with some text and will post them tomorrow. I will also quote the books that I use for study.
