This basically combines quite a few concepts into one. Stone Cutter inspired me to try some human forms; which incidentally REALLY challanged me; and at the same time, I learned a WHOLE lot, so thankyou. I took the subject idea from the Venus statue, studied its anatomy and came up with this.

Also mixed into it was Pixolators Golden Rusted Idol tutorial. However after many failed attempts to get the right look with the rust, I decided to try and get a more realistic gold than just the material provided

Thirdly, with all the talk about creating bodies not just heads, that came into play. So here it is; Some feedback would be great. Let me know what you think.

Thanks so much for all your comments guys. Here's revision 2 of the project. Theres quite a few changes, although you probably wont notice most of them; as they are mostly just small tweaks =P Any other ideas as to how I can improve the image?

I really want to create an effect of this being behind glass, or in a glass cabinet. But I'm clueless on how I would achieve such an effect.

Thankyou :) That means A LOT from somone with 1000+ posts and a member number under 100 :D hehe.. I guess being a traditional artist for so long helps immensly. Besides theres enough infomation in the quicklinks to make ANYONE a master at this program, all thanks to great people like yourself :)..

At present I'm working on a character head study. Ive done most of the modelling, just have to texture it (which takes the longest) Not 100% realistic, because that just isn't my style ;)

Fantastic work! :tu: :tu: :tu:
Here's a tutorial, with notes, on creating transparency...Make a folder in your ZScript folder, and unzip this into it...It has two images, a lens object, and the script itself, and will show you how to use the Transparency graphs, and how to apply reflections... ;)

Thanks everyone for your kind comments; it's comments like these that keep you challenging yourself. And Stonecutter; thanks a million for the link to the tutorial. There's just so much more I can do now ;) I've wanted transparency and reflections in A LOT of works I've fiddled with so far :) So thank you.

P.S Is the name StoneCutter for a reason? Are you a sculpture artist or somthing?

wow thats fantastic. I've never done sculpture before. The closest thing I've ever done is whittle wood as a hobby. However we do have one thing in common. Airbrushing. I've been teaching it for the past several years at a local art institute. I specialise in Realism Airbrushing. I've done everything from character design, to video covers / posters :)
