ok...having major troubles with my zspheres....I like the unified look of the body and arms..but the fingers hands and toes come out looking obviously like dooky...but the adaptive hands and fingers are going more in the direction I want...here is a screen shot...can anyone tell by this what in the world is my error? I really want to add bodies to my heads...but I am just going more crazy trying to figure out the problem here...thnx for any help.

i dont know if this helps, Ron, but have you tried to make a unified skin right from the adaptive one yet (not direct from zspheres)? hope this helps - in case it doesnt, i hope another member can play santa claus for you :D

all the best

Ron on your capture I can See 120 Resolution on unified skin..

you must up de resolution... 256 for better skin
and try to modifie the smooth value ( near the resolution slider)

Wow, this is a big subject Ron and there is 1/2 an hour to go before Christmas day here, so if I stay up much longer Santa will not come.

Maybe one quick suggestion is to try unify skinning your adaptive skins.

The other thing is that I have often found it counterproductive to try and work to much shape into the model with the zspheres themselves when adaptive skinning. Try using them to get the basic outline and then tweak the mesh to get the shape you want. Sorry to blow my own horn, but this is what I did here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=011927&p=5). You'll also see some other great zif models here; if I recall correctly, Gwot's was a stand out.

Also, somewhere, Pix put up a full body tool; I'll try to find it and back in a jiffy.

Good luck and Happy Christmas :)

Okay, here is Pix's full body tool (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010769).

And 5 minutes left till midnight :)

thnx guys for the quick responses on this fine morning (I havent been to bed yet..duh) Cranking up the skin to 256 solved alot of those problems....here is that pic..and then I did play around with skinning the adaptive with unified...and that produced some interesting results too....thnk you all again and have a very merry Christmas....the skin res was the big thing....really slowed down my clunker of a machine though..lol...

rough and dirty shot...

thnx for the link too..I will probably use that also....its always the little things though that I forget in all this z fun that makes the most difference....
:tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

edit...this shows the new tool...just raw and skinned with the higher res and also a quick test shot with a stock head and quicky background and 2 second paintup to see how it will work....now to remodify the raw zif and add a bit more detail etc and I will now be able to do what I have been trying to do fo ra couple of days...lol...ron follow yer own advice and ask questions..duh.....

thnx again...many blessings to you all..
