outstanding experiment Joe!! Your water is always tops in my book....and it looks like the experiment went well...did you use a new technique on the tree? I havent done a scene in a bit other than the water temple...you may have just motivated me to do another scenery image..... :tu: :tu: :tu:

Thanks to all who replied so far.
The foliage: I splatter brushed the background using a small brush size, then I imported a branch I had previously done as a texture and applied it on top of the background, using the DragRectangle and 3Dplane.
You can add this one to your foliage collection, if you so desire. You can play with the intensity, size, and rotate it as you wish.
I have included a Zscript on how this was done. Please ignore the start. When the script stops. you can import the image I posted and it will continue. Aurick or EZ please rescue me here. It would make it easier for members wishing to try this technique.

This is an update to try and adjust a few glaring mistakes that were not apparent last night. Please let me know what you think.

To me this looks like a tranquil and mesmerizing mountain lake scene. Just throw in a sparkling bass jumping out of the lake and I am there!! :tu:

Calming, I like it. I would like a little more contrast in the second...Brighter moon perhaps?

I have to agree with Dave, Joe...I think, mistakes or not, I prefer the first one...
It has a beautiful painterly feel to it... :)

Well, I like aspects of both versions, but the thing that struck me most about the first one is that it didn't really look like a night sky as it was overall too bright, and therefore wouldn't shine light like that on the water.

The second one however, fixed that up quite nicely, but the folliage ended up in shadows. However, I think the second one is more realistic.

Either way you have another pretty painting there DeeVee!

Thanks folks. What I was trying to correct was the blotch of black by the bow of the boat and the very bright reflection on the boat's edge, the other thing was the foliage, if you notice the background foliage goes all the way to the edge of the image, but the applied foliage does not leaving a black line, I tried to correct that. The boat could be either way. I guess I got carried away and messed up again.
Your comments are appreciated, and I learned something through this exercise.
SC once told me I would love the SprayBrush, and that is proving to be as versatile as the FiberBrush.
DeeVee,
Joe.
Edit: EZ thanks for the script but it hangs up at the same place, and crashes the program.

chose (show action) and when it crashes tell me were?
probley soon as you see the texture automaitly import it self.
it works fine for me.
put the BMP in your graphic editer and keep the same file name and over write it see if that helps.
if i have a BMP that Crashes me i take it to another graphic editer then over write it with the same image and it seams to help

EZ, that is exactly what was causing the problem. Thanks for your help. It works fine now.

This is version 2 with a little more contrast.

Joe.

Excellent picture, Joe. I can't make up my mind between #1 and #3... OK, just about #3 if you push me. (I suppose #2 is the most realistic, but I think a little artistic license is legitimate in the interests of the overall composition.)

The things that really do it for me is the reflections on the water, and the way the moonlight picks out the details on the boat.

#3 for me!

It makes me want to cast off the bow and stern lines, and head out for a moonlight sail!!
