Hi everyone, this is dedicated to a man named Harryhausen. and a classic movie called: 'Earth vs. the Flying Saucers'.
You younger people may never have heard of him,...but name a classic Sci-fi or fantasy film from the 50's, 60's, and early 70's, and it may well be one of his. A true genius stop-motion animator.
What he was able to do without computers, just working alone on a closed set with a projector, rear projection screen, stop motion camera, models and sets he built himself. and months of hard, backbreaking work under hot lights, is truly amazing.
To do a scene like this in RP, (and I've tried.) would take alot longer than the few hours it took me in Zbrush, with nowhere near the effect.
So, here's to you, Ray. You influenced my life. Thanks. 50.

hehehe... Cool stuff! Only thing this needs is some 50's style sound effects, and some blinking lights, and you'll have your movie done in no time! :D

Hi Chad and Juandel!
Yes, Chad, I can hear that creepy high-pitched, off-tone music now. I think they called it a 'theremin'. Like in the Day the Earth Stood Still. It's talked about in this link: THEREMIN AND HARRYHAUSEN- INFLUENCED PC GAME (http://www.theycamefromhollywood.com/techfx_theremin.html)
Jundel, yes, I got the BG Pic from Imageafter.com and I'm sure it was from your area. It was perfect for this shot. Thanks guys. Zya. 50.

I love this kinda stuff --excellent work--lots of FUN !! :D :tu: :tu: :tu: :D
Two favorites of mine:Mighty Joe Young and the 7th Voyage of Sinbad.
There is a documentary shown on the cable networks about him and his work.
His work on illustrating the "duels" in Sinbad alone earned him a place in cinema history.
You are correct however, name more popular with "older kids"
Thank you.\ from one of them.

Hi, Robo, thanks.
Hi, bicc, yes, two incredible films. Ray actually made a cameo appearance in the recent remake of Mighty Joe. You must mean the documentary narrated by Leonard Nimoy.
Hi Gary, thanks. Zya. 50.
