he new material system just rocks... I am totaly going to over use the cavity shaders :)

I am experementing on makeing Jade and Old carved Ivory... I am tired now, I am going to start again tomarrow....


Here is a minitor I whipped up... he started as a Zsphere model, then an adaptive mesh... then subdevided a bunch of times... I messed up and did not mask enough... you can see the chest has some gridlike markings... wich I think could be tweaked into another effect in the furture maby :)

here is my atttempt at carved jade :)

I did this model in 1 1/2 hours :)

yea verry hard not to get sidetracked... I am going to make a dragon next... when I come back it will probably be a unicorn or something completely diffrent... this is a doodlers paradise!!!

I realy want to say Kudos for the front and back markings oon the Zspheres! Pixologic has done alot of realy realy cool stuff!

all my Z2 dreams are comeing true, and there is a suprise around every corner!

Yes Codexus ,

ZB2 is my new favorite toy!!! and soon as I go back to work it is going to be my most powerful tool :) the materials are alot of fun... I was paying more attension to the modeling part with this model...next one I am goiong to spend more time on the shader... perhaps I am going to look at refrence photos... I seem to be missing something... in jade it seems like there is a milky white veins going thru it... maby next model I will experement with reflection, and some kind of greenish white vein material... I dunno, every time I play with it I get sidetracked...

I am realy luck I have 2 weeks off work :P I am going to learn as much as possible... I am also playing with a ut2004 map... but I am on hold untill I go thru some more fun zbrush tutorials...


LOL with the new fiber shader, any model can be turned into a Chia pet instantly LOL!

in the prefrences pallett there is a way to make so you can realy subdevide ...

I made him over 4,000,000 polys and painted an alpha on the wings...

I am more happy with this Jade... more milky looking... I added noise , and a reflection :)

hope you all like it :) think I am going to make a neat vase next :)

thanks for the idea ron... when I was in china the elephant and the buddha where the 2 most popular jade things I saw... I have some wooden elephants here I got in thailand I may use as refrences... every time I try to make a buddha it comes out with helmets and horns and stuff...LOL think I am going for the elephant idea this time :)

when I come back I will post the material :)

well here I go back to work :) maby I will get lucky and make a cool elephant...or mastadon :p...

for the material to look like jade you need to select a blueish green for the models base color...

well got back up and couldnt resist stopping by the computer after my pitstop...

love the jade elephant...

I am assuming they still use the same old z channel...I havent been there in forever...after I formatted my hd I didnt even reload mirc....but...I do use msn messanger now and several of us chat constant on that.. drop me an email if you wanna do that...

several of the new users here I have seen posting about doing a new official ..snicker...zbrush channel..so I dont know whats up with all that...there are some threads about it on the community forum...the bad thing about the mirc chats is that they die off after awhile.....but all the more power to those who wanna keep the faith... :) but anyways..drop me a line if you wanna do the msn thing....and any others watching this thread too...

Thanks for the inspiration... I dont know why I didnt think elephant when trying to make a jade carveing... that and buhdda are the 2 most popular jade things I saw in china.. they do alot of neat dragons also... but the majority of things i saw was Buddha and Elephants.. then dragons, and for some reason there where lots of ashtrays ?!?!

Glad you like it :) I dont use msn because of security... I am changeing my IP in the next couple of days, and then I will start useing MSN again... I have a way to use a Linux MSN clone, but if I have same IP the attackers will be able to nail my system again.. It will be changed tomarrow or the next day, I will try to chat then :)

BTW if you want a cool IRC client try Xchat over MIRC... Xchat is realy neat, can make the chat window transparent, or translucent... can tint it a color, or have wallpaper... realy fun little IRC client.. Plus it is totaly free, no MIRC nag screen every time I use it :)

@Codexus ... Cool! I love chatting about Zbrush...I will see if you guys are still there :)
