What's different about the specular highlights in this picture?

I Was doing some experimenting with the GSI settings in the lighting pallette. These tips should apply to 1.23b as well as 1.5.

First I created a window-pane alpha and then distorted it using the spherical distort in Adobe Photoshop. Since I wanted the window highlight where the main light source was coming from I moved the white part of the image to the upper left.

I then imported it into the texture pallette and then selected this texture using the GSI button in the lighting pallette. I then raised the GSI to about 75 or thereabout.

Since I can't post 1.5 screenshots yet, this screenshot was taken from 1.23b. As far as I know, this method should work the same in both 1.23b and 1.5.

Hey, that's neat WingedOne! I've yet to do much with those settings... looks like it's time to experiment! :)

That's a really cool tip WingedOne. I've played a tiny bit with the settings, but didn't really know what they did. Thanks :D
