Yeah looks familiar what was it again gangs of new york?
Great sculpt
Wow, excellent sculpt. Daniel Day-Lewis really brought that character to life.:tu:
Dude ......Bill the BUTCHER!! I think our ideas are a 100% similar and our execution..not really but hey;)
One thing one my to-do list is to do a portret of Daniel Day-Lewis in the rol of Bill Cuttingham....cause he's the best actor I've seen playing the coolest character ever......nice
you did an awesome job on him I hope i can say the same about my version in the future

Happy New Year Mutte!
That's massive! Love your sculpts.
Inspiring model mutte!
The work that you did on his head adds a lot to its character. It feels like a solid piece of modeling overall, and the detailing is just perfect.
Just a small bit. Because the base has a higher color saturation than the model it competes with it for the focal point.

Excellent work, whats the poly count on the finished ztool. I can only get about 1 million polys out of my machine and I'm wondering what it takes to get that type of detail.
Very nice. The skin has an interesting unique feel to it, like tightly stretched leather or something.

Great piece man! You managed to put a lot of character/personality in the sculpt. Very, very intense! :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: if you ask me! I read that this wasn't intended as a portrait, but you should consider doing a full body of Bale, as he appeared in the Machinist (btw, how did you do the zipper and the cloth sitches?)

Hi Maarten,
You have done a lot of work.
I mean great work.
I like the Centaur II most.
All sculpts are great but that is really awesome in all of them.
How did you manage your timing?
Because I think you work in a big studio and after work is there enough time for personal work?

Hi guys,
A Mr. Hyde concept, I wish it turned out better, I'm low on inspiration at the moment. Comp in psd's and zgrabs.
mr hyde concept ZBC II.jpg
mr hyde copy.jpg
a material breakdown I comp these back and forth until I'm happy with a general feeling, add some dirt layers and some Zdept and paint repaint the hair and presto. normaly I render a rimlight but system kept crashing on this render, that's why it could the result could be beter. O well It's just a sketch.

Though you said you're low on inspiration, I think you produced one of your best works :tu:
EDIT: btw how do you render out from zbrush in that large of a format? Mine crashes sometimes with the double...

Great job on the sculpt, maybe just the similar choice of mats for your comp that could be a little stronger?

First of all, I love this sculpt, I think it is very nice. But I would also like to voice my opinion that the feet seem to be lacking, it seems to me that there is not enought weight distribution in the feet, especially the toes, I understand that he has wings and that affects his body mass especially with gravity and all, but I would like to see more bottom surface area of his toes on the ground, perhapse more spread to give the feel that he is actually touching the ground, and not seem like his body is just "placed" on the ground. Again I love the sculpt, on of my favs :tu: :tu: , but I just thought I would offer an idea/opinion. :)
AndreHolzmeister
09-08-10, 06:42 AM
Freaking awesome dude! I think the wings need some more work to get in par with the res, maybe some damage, rips and veins.
