Rainbow Country - Slightly Surreal Landscape

I love working with the painting brushes and tonight when I was just fooling around. This sort of began to emerge so I ran with it and developed it into a painting. It is no prize winner but I thought it would be worth posting just for fun. :p

Nice idea, Northstarr, and I love the silky feel to that water. :tu:

By sheer coincidence yesterday, I thought I'd try my hand at adding a few bits of ZBrush to one of my earlier Terragen pieces. It didn't work out, I think because I chose a bad example to work on (the extra details had to be so small), but I thought you might like to see the original, even though there's still no ZBrush involved.

All Terragen (including the rain-dapples lake surface) except the rainbow and the effect of the falling rain which were added in Paint Shop Pro.

Interesting image N. The water has a different look which is refreshing. It is nice to see you trying new ways of doing basic things like sky and water. Well done :ex:

Flycatcher, looking at the rainbow in the one you posted, I think I probably should have made mine a little wider and a little more transparent. Hmmmm. :)

Northstarr - I don't think it matters. My picture was an attempt at realism, yours was an interpretation. As such, I think the style of the your rainbow is fully in keeping with that of the rest of the image. :)
