Hi people,
This is my 3rd man in ZBrush...
http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200406/user_image-1088425379tjb.jpg
I'm getting no-where with the lips...
I just can't make it work... the polygons are too big... and if I divide, it will be too heavy...
Anyone can take it
start head here4.zip (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200407/user_file-1088425474tky.zip)
and add lips, and include the script so I can see the full work...
BTW: As I look on others work, it's all very smooth... and here you can see the polygons very clearly! why? why? why?
I know I can divide parts of the object, but others seams to smooth it automaticaly...

The only auto smoothing comes from primitive objects. they automaticly divide 2x when "Quick 3D Edit" is turned off. The zsphere is very popular.

So, what's you are saying is that I should allways use the ZSphere to start heads...
right?
This model worth nothing now...

most people do start heads with zspheres, but it depends how you want to work. primitives, zspheres, and polymeshs all have different workflows and accessable features associated. zbrush is all about this kind of flexibilitiy.

Can you be more specific about what are the treditional ways to work with primitives, zspheres, and polymeshs...
And what are they being used for... like Zspheres are used for full body...
If you'll be kind, describe the workflow for them... ;)

Some of the diferences in workflow:
the major differences are in the Tool palete.
Primitives have the auto smooth feature (turn off quick 3d Edit), an initialize setting for primitive polycount, masking based on row and column, and optimize mesh feature.
Polymeshs have level of detail, edgeloops, creases, selective subdivision, polygroups, and the ability to import geometry.
Zspheres are like advanced polymeshs, but they generate meshes, and can't import geometry. Instead it can have replacement meshes that replace 1 or a set of zspheres. They also can't do edgeloops or polygroups. Zspheres remain flexible at 2 different levels, the resulting geometry, and the zsphere mesh generator. changes to the mesh generator (adding/deleting zspheres), will reset the geometry changes.
This list is not a complete one, there are more differences, but these represent some of the main ones.

ok, thanks...
I think that I got the idea... but I think that I need to see it on the fly... I get to it and try some of these types.
do you know about a GOOD ZScript that will show the full detailed work of creating a head.
I once saw a full ZScript of creating a full alien head, with textures... and I can't find it anymore.

I had a rough look......... eyes a bit big and oddish, plus face down to mouth a little exagerated. Would have been better but I haven't the RAM to divide past 129,000 polys. Anyway all I had time for. With the 3d sphere best to work in x so seam is at back. I do have a zscript.....I will post it if it runs......will check.

Script will ask for the tool you posted.....load it and script runs. When asked to save tool choose new name. This script is 273 kb, in minimnal update and minimal actions it takes about 15 to 30 min to run........ depending on your ram...... I think.....as my computer slowed things up by compressing memory every update. Ain't life a bugger.
