Hi all,

I have made a character using Zspheres. I created it Symmetrically, is there anyway now that the character is complete, to go back and make it A-symmetrical?

Also, how the heck do you get the button to appear for Edge loops? I know where it is supposed to be located, but I am only able to bring it up two ways:
1) load the edge loop tutorial script
2) import a mesh

I made a zsphere guy, pulled him back in as tool, lowered the mesh detail to lowest level, but button still was not there to start doing edgeloops :-(

Thanks in advance.

Making it A-symmetrical is as simple as turning off axis symmetry and finishing the model, no? Not quite sure I understand what you're asking.

As for getting the edge loop button to appear, you have to convert to a polymesh (the edge loop function only works with polymeshs). Look for the 'Make PolyMesh3D' button in the top of the Tool panel. After pressing it, it'll create a new tool, named the same as your current one, but with PM3D_ at the beginning. Select that one, and the 'Edge Loop' button will become functional.

Or if you are working with a zsphere model you will have to skin it (Tools>Adaptive skin).

When you say you want it asymmetrical, do you mean you want to put your model into a pose? If so, it is easy to set up a pose by rotating the different zsphere limbs. Check out the zscript tutorial "Modelling: zsphere mesh continuity" first to see how to 'bake' your mesh so it doesn't get messed up during the posing.

JUSTNPROUD, there is an Edge Loops tutorial accessible through the HELP system. Go to the Modeling 3D Objects>Edge Loops topic.
