Anyone who can tell me how to make nice looking human hair or fur?

I think everyone here has their own preferred method. Some use the fiber brush, with or without a stencil. Some model the hair from a plane or sphere, then add texture. Some use the smudge tool (works well for fine fur). I prefer to mold a hair style directly to my figure, then paint in highlights and color variations. I finish off with smudge brush, shading enhancer, highlighter, etc.

And yet another way is to model your head, render it, then import the render into a same size document, and just paint it...
Remember that option as well, and here's a little quick tutorial script on a simple method to paint hair in 2D...

Go to the QuickLinks link posted at the top of the forum page and do an Edit/Find using the word "hair". You'll find plenty of tutorials using different approaches on how to do it.
