After seeing Pix's leaves and flowers, I decided to try and develop a different technique for creating more realistic looking foliage. The following is the result of this effort.
Please let me know if the script runs OK. If you try it, you can post your images here.
I hope you will find it useful.

Thanks for trying the script and letting me know that it works.
I have done several scripts since joining this forum, and I got more satisfaction out of the creation of this one than any of the others. Mainly because I set out with a goal in mind and was able to achieve it.
Pix, thanks for the inspiration !

Tried this one out, and it works beautifully! Very creative and something that will definitely be used (by me) in the future. I might even use this on the trees in my Oz project. Thanks a million, Joe. :tu: BIG :tu:

hehehe... i just could not resist to "leaf on" after your :tu: :tu: :tu: script was finito this morning - instead of getting myself ready for the saltmine. and then it was too late to upload it myself. thank you for both u/l and for showing us another excellent way to do foliage, DeeVee! i love it and the wonderful overgrown coconut plantation (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=006146) you posted yesterday!

Great technique and excellent examples of its use by all. :tu:

Ron - I especially like your seascape with tree. As well as admiring the tree, I love the way the light beams filter down through the clouds, the hinted seabirds, and the white-caps on the water. Lovely composition. :tu: :tu: :tu:

Hi EZ I remember your saying that in a previous thread, that is why I did it on a black background. Thanks for mentioning it again, I have found that tip very helpful.

I have been experimenting to see what other types of leaves could be created using this method. I have not mastered it as yet, but the following is an experiment I did in trying to create Diffenbachia leaves. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1024508465kfn.jpg

the added leaves definitely gave it a different feel..gave it life...not so much lifelessness that a mud slide would bring....lookin good :tu: :tu: :tu:
