View Full Version : museum's chronicle
hello! I 've read the topic "enough is enough" with a lot of interest! having been intimidated myself by so many things during my life, I consider that I am a true professional on that question of been nervous... what more intimidating for artist than the old masters, their masterpieces, their cultural evidence, and so on?... they are terrific! so, I have spend some nights in National Gallerry , in London, and I am proud to say that, behind the public man in the painting, there is a man like you and me, with all the little problems and trade-off of the life... I get back with some pictures that establish the fact... as aurick says always:hope this helps to be less shy; myself I feel better... the painting is "man with a turban", by Jean Van Eyck, painted in 1433, and, as I said before, exposed at the National Gallery In London... http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200312/user_image-1070987299gnj.jpg
the modelisation is done on the technic of Gary komar, if i remember well; with trhe painting in background... at least something is missed in the low part of the face, but, ok, that's done...

I enjoy this art Marcel, it brought a smile to my face too..and it is very good, it is damned good.
Do ya think he was wearing a turban because he did not want people to know he was bald :D
Many Blessings
Thanks for the image, but more importantly, the reminder that we are all always struggling at our art and human.

Hi Marcel,
Another "masterpiece"! Charming!
May I presume to suggest an change? In picture 3, instead of looking at us, he should be looking up at the unbalanced turban, with his mouth formed in an "O".
This might better anticipate picture four. Just a thought...
I like very much how you use the reflected green color sidelight to the head as it emerges into 3D.

Marcel
If the Masters of Rennaissance are in museums, I think you should be in the next building. Too early for you to be in museums! But you deserve a bunch of kudo's. We have a lot to learn from you !!!

this is great marcel! i love the progression of the portrait, from the model to the model with light, then shadow added then without the head thing! really creative! i really enjoy seeing every one of your posts!

Wow, it is the imagination, the creativity, the artwork like this, that inspires as well as this incredible program that has me positively crawling out of my skin in anticipation of my full Zbrush arriving.
I think (haha) I am going to have to stop coming here til it arrives cuz you guys are just awesome and being unable to save anything right now with the demo is too heavy a burden at the moment.
Excellent job!!
