View Full Version : fishing At Sunrise
This is an image in which I used the mirroring technique. The rocks were done with the DepthBrush. Rod and line were done with the SnakeHook and SimpleBrush. The sky was done using the SimpleBrush with add off, the SmudgeBrush and also Blurbrush, along with some of the intensity brushes. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1030225325jdb.jpg

Hey I like this! Very eyecatching. If you don't mind me asking, what is the "mirror technique"?

Nice sunset-on-water effect Joe... :tu:
I see a lot of these 'molten gold' sunsets from the boat where I live, and you captured the richness very well...
:tu: :tu: :tu:
Very stunning image DeeVee!
You know what a sucker I am for a beautiful sky and you didn't dissappoint me with this one!
Very awesome! :tu: :tu: :tu:
Thank you folks.
N, What I call the mirror technique may not be that at all. The following is what I do.
:b2: I import the image as a texture, The dragRectalgle is selected as well as the simple brush, and brush 00. the intensity is adjusted as needed, Then in the Texture menu you flip the image either vertically or horizontally. You can then position it with the Gyro. and vary intensity as needed.
I hope this explaination helps.

Joe.

extra-beautiful sky, DeeVee! :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: and your mirroring technique sounds very useful!
living landlocked and not having seascapes at hand during sunsets/-rises over here i wondered what a little perspective distortion the other way round might look like, so i copied your sky, mirrored it, then applied it in the upper one via simplebrush>dragrectangle>scalegyro and onto a 3dplane with perspective distortion turned on in the "draw"palette and rotated/scaled into place in the bottom one. hope you wont mind, but i just couldnt resist to make use of that gorgeous sky :D yours is much better, but it was great fun to give that technique a try!

Beautiful sky and reflections, Joe. I like the point of view with just the rod and line to supply the information. :tu: :tu: :tu:
Just had another look, and spotted one tiny flaw. The cloud reflections at the bottom right cut straight across the rocks in the corner. I doubt if I would have noticed it if I hadn't had a similar problem myself before lunch with a practice image. Mine didn't show up in preview, only when I did a best render.
Nice work jaundel :tu: you know i love it when you use my methods and modify them to show a different view point. Do it whenever you care to.
FC you are quite right. That happened because the rocks were the last thing added using the DragRectangle and Depthbrush, another layer or two might have solved the problem, or I could have tried doing the rock on a completely different layer. Anyway thanks, your powers of observation are impressive :D :D :D
DeeVee,
Joe.
