View Full Version : Pixolator, do you think you could post a script of a low poly model?
It would be great to see the master of Zbrush, model the most excellent object using the low poly method. I want to learn how to better use the method and watching you model something is one of the best ways i learn. Thanks a lot if you can do something even if it is VERy simple! :)

im not sure i understand the difference between the two. i mean i know whats being done but is there an advantage with low poly modeling. everyone i have seen pix do seems so easy. could someone explain the benifits from the one to the other. thanx
some things are easier to start with low poly so you can block out the basic shapes (ex. hands (to me at least), and other forms.)
i think that is the only real difference.
he did in this thread check out the shark http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=004151&p=2
Alright thanks EZ. I missed the shark post :)
Im about to go through the script. Thanks again.

LWTB,
There are other simple uses for the low poly technique apart from head modelling. here is a script to make soft folds in a skirt or other material. It is very simple but I do not see how it could be done any other way.

EA Krippler....I think that part of it also has to do with resources on a processor also...I may be wrong...but fewer polygons mean a smaller file but still high resolution? And if you are working in the field...I believe that like animators want lower poly counts for their stuff when possible...now as far as on a regular ole person like me...well I find so far that its easier to block off a face and then gradually add the features ....and some modeling requiring crisper bends and stuff is easily accomplished this way...or if you are doing an object like a plane or something you dont really need all the extra polygons.....If I am wrong on this stuff, guys please correct me...this is what I have understood all this to be...(knowing me though I am off base on it) ;)
I think that is absolutely right ROn!
I may not be an animator or graphics specialist but i know that if i can get great models at low file size and stuff, its a good thing.
